String Theory

Watercolor and gouache. Continuing with “Unseen Events” series this painting represent the concept of String Theory, String Theory or M theory is an incredibly complicated process that involves scientist trying to link together all the know theories of the universe in hopes off creating One Great Unified Theory. 

Since the concept of string theory is so complicated and complex I want to give the impression of complexity within my painting. I also wanted to convey the strain that companies trying to link together concept that for hundreds of years have had seemingly nothing to do with each other. A series of strings darting off in different directions and holding in place a pair of forceps against a many layered background. The strings are stretched tight in order to convey the tension accompanying this theory and the strings are colored in variations of bone and skin tones in order to convey the notion of something organic. Thick contrasting blood spurts from where the forceps hold and where the strings are tied together once again emphasizing the strain and pain of trying to link together seemingly unlinkable theories.
